Countless comparisons have been made that pit the monstrous Nissan GT-R against all sorts of insane competition, but now, Nissan->ke62 has released a 30-second commercial that shows Godzilla going up against its biggest challenge yet – a speeding bullet. Thing is, unless your day job involves working as a journalist at the Daily Planet, it just doesn’t really seem like a very fair match, right? Maybe… or maybe not.

Hear me out. The bullet is quick – that much is obvious. It’s svelte and streamlined, built for speed above all else. But the GT-R->ke1592 has a lot going for it too. First of all, the Nissan has way more legroom, plus it can seat up to four passengers, and it’s got a much longer range than the bullet. In back is a place for groceries, or even a suitcase, plus the AWD system is great in low-traction conditions. Throw the bullet some snow, and it’s not going anywhere. The resell value is also quite good – maybe I’m looking in the wrong section of eBay, but I’m not finding too many options when it comes to gently used bullets.

So I guess the GT-R has a leg up on a shard of ballistic flying metal when it comes to general practicality, but when it comes to outright speed, the 2,300-mph bullet seems to edge ahead… or does it? Hit play and find out.

Nissan GT-R

The R35 GT-R just got updated for the 2017 model year, dropping cover at the New York Auto Show late last March. Upgrades include a tweaked fascia front and back, a new dashboard, a new touchscreen, and even a little more power from the turbo 3.8-liter V-6. Eat your heart out, Superman.
