Looks like the people who bring you "the ultimate driving machine" are now going to be bringing you the ultimate fuel savers instead. When BMW revealed the M1 Hommage concept it looked like there would be a new shark swimming in the R8's waters. But, according to Klaus Draeger who is on BMW's management board, BMW has no plans to produce a new sports car.

In an recent interview Draeger said the BMW's major concern is the "sustainability". He also mentioned that this year only 850,000 cars were equipped with the EfficientDynamics system. This seems to suggest that BMW will let Audi and Porsche work on more and more supercars, while BMW may become the German company known for a focus on efficiency and hybrid cars.
