Aston Martin has long been associated with James Bond. The relevance of cars in movies more or less started with the Aston Martin cars featuring in James Bond movies. To commemorate this iconic relationship, Aston Martin has teamed up with the producers of James Bond, EON Productions and Sky, to celebrate “Global James Bond Day” today, the October 5th.

"London is the home of 007 and fans should be on the lookout for some of the most exciting cars used by James Bond this Friday 5th October."
A Little Brief History
When the franchise’s third movie – Goldfinger – was being filmed, Aston Martin was asked to supply cars, but the British automaker was less interested. The production team started looking at alternatives from Jaguar and Chevrolet to get the car. Not finding what they were looking for, the team managed to convince Aston Martin to lend them a second-hand DB5, and spent £25,000 on customizing it with cool gadgets and stuff. Remember, £25,000 was spent in 1964, which is nothing short of half-a-million dollars t today’s rate. Who knew that this partnership would lead to Aston Martin featuring its cars in 11 of the 24 James Bond movies made till date!
Where’s The Party Tonight?
The cars driven will be the DB5 that was seen in Goldfinger, V8 Vantage from Goldfinger, DBS from The Living Dead, and DB10 from Quantum of Solace. The celebrations will also include a prize draw, wherein fans get a chance to win a wide screen television and Sky Q package.
Apart from the aforementioned cars, one of the 12 DB's used will be at Aston Martin Works’ heritage showroom on Dover Street. Of the seven Vanquishes used in Spectre, one will be displayed at an Aston Martin dealership at Park Lane. The biggest collection of the Bond cars is still at the London Film Museum. Surprisingly, it was set to close within the first year of its inception (pun intended).
The 25th James Bond movie is confirmed and is slated for release on February 14, 2020. It will have Daniel Craig starring, in perhaps his last outing as James Bond.
