The all-new Peugeot 508 is getting the limited edition treatment in the form of a range-topping, all-new, 508 First Edition. The limited edition sedan will only see a run of 200 units, all of which will be available exclusively for the U.K. market. Beyond its label, the 508 First Edition packs plenty of exterior, interior, and tech features, all of which come either as exclusive additions or standard equipment on Peugeot's answer to the Volkswagen Passat.

It certainly didn’t take long for Peugeot to roll out a special edition 508 just two weeks after the next-generation 508 made its own debut. But such is the case these days in the auto world. New cars are now being accompanied by exclusive “first edition” models as a way for automakers to increase the exposure of the model. It’s not just Peugeot, either. Mercedes-Benz does it routinely with all the new models it’s released over the past few years.

In the case of the 508 First Edition, the limited-run sedan distinguishes itself with a pair of exclusive colors — Ultimate Red and Dark Blue — that can be combined with black accents applied to its front fascia. A new set of 19-inch Augusta alloy wheels also come standard on the 508 First Edition. The wheels carry a two-tone design with matching grey coating, a slick combination that complements the available body colors.

As slick as the exterior is, it pales in comparison to what Peugeot did to the 508 First Edition’s interior. The sedan’s cabin is designed with Zebrano-type wood decorum, Alcantara trimmings, and black leather upholstery with copper stitching lines. Peugeot’s new i-Cockpit layout is also prominent in the sedan. It’s made up of a compact steering wheel that’s dressed in perforated full-grain leather. There’s also an installable head-height digital panel and a 10-inch HD capacitive touchscreen system that comes standard on this model. Satin chrome decor, a black roof liner, full LED concealed lighting, aluminum pedals, and door sills marked “First Edition” complete the exclusive items included in the limited edition 508.

On the tech front, the special edition sedan gets a bevy of gizmos, including fully automated parking assistance, a 360° color camera system, night vision for reduced visibility driving, Inviolability Pack, and a wireless smartphone charging plate. As a nice cap to this overloaded limited edition, Peugeot is also throwing in a FOCAL high-fidelity acoustic system, which includes ten loudspeakers.

Power upgrades are not part of the package, but interested customers get the benefit of choosing between two engine options: a gas unit with 225 horsepower on tap and a diesel version that packs 180 horsepower in output. Both units come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The special edition 508 is already available for early reservation. If you’re interested, you can reserve now and get four years of free servicing via a Service Contract and a set of FOCAL Wireless Headphones. Deliveries of the Peugeot 508 First Edition will start in October 2018.
