Remember the Peugeot Onyx Hybrid Concept unveiled back in 2012 at the Paris Auto Show->ke227? It was the first concept car to use design elements from Peugeot->ke68's new style approach. Now, at the 2014 International Automobile Festival, Tribute to Sensations in Paris, Peugeot will unveil the basic design of a new concept car using similar styling. It will then fully reveal the concept at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition on April 20th.

The first image of the concept reveals a four-door coupe that is 186.2 inches long and 51.6 inches high, making it very athletic and sporty. Peugeot revealed no details on the engine just yet, but we're certain it will be an evolution of the hybrid system used in the Onyx, which was a 3.7-liter, FAP HDi V-8 engine combined with an electric motor and regenerative braking for a total output of 680 horsepower!

There are no other details to reveal as of now, but we will bring you updates as soon as Peugeot releases them.

Peugeot Onyx Hybrid Concept

Peugeot unveiled the Onyx Hybrid Concept at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, which offered us the first glimpse of its future design language.

The Onyx Concept is powered by a 3.7-liter, FAP HDi V-8 engine with hybrid technology. The V-8 engine delivers a total of 600 horsepower and sends the power to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. The hybrid system in the Peugeot Onyx Hybrid uses regenerative braking to keep its batteries all charged up and tosses into the ring an extra 80 horsepower when it’s charged and ready to go.

With 680 horsepower and 1,061 pound feet of torque, the Onyx concept can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.2 seconds.
