Porsche->ke1 has big plans to double their sales in the next few years and Matthias Mueller, Porsche's new CEO, isn't stay mum about their strategies. In an interview with Automotive News, Mueller said, "We have a good opportunity to get new products to increase volume and revenue. We are analyzing our chances in different segments."

What exactly does that mean? Well, we already know of a small SUV called the Cajun that is scheduled to be released in 2013 and the production 918 Spyder should be seen about a year before that, but another entry level sports car is also in the works, and Mueller is already starting to spill the beans on this vehicle.

Mueller said that the new entry level car will be similar to the iconic 550 Spyder of the 1950s (pictured above) and will be priced below the current Boxster->ke570. This new model will get a four-cylinder engine and will most likely be built on the same platform as the next generation Volkswagen Golf->ke164. The new engine might either be adapted from the current flat-six engine or a more cheaper option borrowed from Volkswagen.

In an effort to further expand their lineup, Porsche is also taking into consideration a targa version of the Cayman->ke5 and other Panamera->ke1840 derivatives in addition to the four-door sedan. A new convertible and coupe have also been rumored, but that's where Mueller drew the line in terms of details.
