It's been less than a month since the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RS made its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show, and the German automaker is taking things up a notch with the Weissach Package at the 2018 New York Auto Show. Designed to reduce curb weight even more, the bundle adds a number of carbon-fiber elements and a few extras that you can't have as separate options. By ordering the Weissach Package, you basically get the most extreme, road-going 911 out there!

The Weissach-equipped 911 GT3 RS is highly recognizable on the outside thanks to the exposed carbon-fiber front hood, rear wing, and roof. While the hood and wing are already made from carbon on the regular GT3 RS, they're covered in paint, whereas the Weissach Package replaces the body color with a clear coat. That's extra points in the cool department. The carbon-fiber roof is exclusive to this bundle and shaves 1.1 pounds off the car compared to the standard magnesium panel.

The rear wing also gets a large "Porsche" logo, but more importantly, the Weissach Package enables access to the forged magnesium wheels, which are 25 pounds lighter than the forged aluminum rims. In addition, these wheels also reduce rotational mass, which improves handling.

Inside the cabin, the bundle adds carbon-fiber shift paddles and matching trim on the steering wheel, which contributes to another 0.5 pounds of weight savings. The lightweight carpeting saves another 0.5 pounds. Finally, the headrests are embroidered with the "Weissach Package" logo, which can also be seen in the form of a badge above the glove compartment.

Under the skin, the Weissach Package adds stabilizer bars and suspension coupling rods made of carbon-fiber, which save another 11.9 pounds. Overall, when equipped with the magnesium wheels, the weight of the 911 GT3 RS drops to 3,153 pounds. Engine specs remain the same, with the 4.0-liter flat-six rated at the standard 520 horsepower and 346 pound-feet of torque.

The Weissach Package costs $18,000, while the magnesium wheels fetch $13,000. The 911 GT3 RS retails from $187,500 in the U.S., which means that a sports car equipped with all the options above costs almost $220,000.
