If you’re looking for a good conversation starter for your living room, then allow us to point you towards this full-scale mockup of a 2015 Porsche 919 Hybrid Le Mans->ke1591 racer that’s currently for sale on eBay. It’s one of only a handful in the world and can even be mounted on a wall! It obviously doesn’t have the hybrid->ke147 powertrain of a real 919,->ke4873 but you could always bodge an old Volkswagen->ke94 engine and transmission in the back and have the coolest daily driver in your neighborhood.

It’s visually identical to the two 919s that raced at Le Mans in 2014 (the 2015 919s use revised bodywork) and has been signed by Porsche->ke1 factory drivers Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley, Mark Webber, Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb.

Previously used for promotional purposes, this resin replica is being auctioned by Porsche Asia Pacific in Singapore to benefit the SportsCares Foundation and Movement, a charity that uses sports to benefit underprivileged children, individuals with disabilities and anyone else who might need a helping hand.

The winning bidder also gets two business-class plane tickets to Singapore, where they’ll stay in a five-star hotel for two nights and attend the Porsche Circuit event on July 23rd and 24th. After that, the “buck” 919 will be shipped free of charge to anywhere in the world.

The end of the bidding period coincides with the end of this weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the current high bid sits at $7,370.00. Good luck!

Why it matters

The 2014 919 was the car that spearheaded Porsche's return to Le Mans’ fastest class and the World Endurance Championship. The team struggled against the might of Audi and pair of very rapid Toyotas last year, but a slightly revised 919 for 2015 has shown promise. Three 919s swept the top three positions on the first day of qualifying this week for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans.
