The Nissan->ke62 GT-R has always been a showcase for the company’s highest-performance technologies. Those features make it able to compete with other sports cars that are far above the hopped up Datsun’s price range. Most owners find the 480 HP and the 430 lb-ft of torque from the VR38DETT engine in their GT-R to be sufficient and like most modern turbocharged engines turbo lag is almost nonexistent. But incase you are a stickler for low end grunt, and would hate to bastardize your Nissan by swapping in a big American V8->ke1280, Japanese tuners Power Enterprises have something that might interest you. In what is quite possibly the most radical engine modification package ever seen, Power Enterprises have added a pair of Rotrex centrifugal superchargers to work in conjunction with the factory IHI turbochargers to twincharge the handmade GT-R motor.

The idea of twin charging an engine is not a new idea. Twin charging takes advantage of the low end power of a supercharger and the high RPM gains of a spooled up turbocharger, thus providing more power throughout the entire rev band. What makes the Power Enterprises set up unique is the number of power adders used. The kit uses two Rotrex C30-94 superchargers, higher flowing fuel injectors and retuned computer. Power Enterprise claims that the modified vehicle has better low-end and mid-range response and lots more torque. Precisely how much more depends on the kit. Power Enterprises makes one that produces 560HP (418kW) and another producing 600hp (448kW), the later uses upgraded waste gates and a titanium exhaust to squeze every last drop of performance from the GT-R.

Pricing has not yet been announced.
