Ram recently debuted a new line of special edition trucks at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois called the Harvest Edition. The package is available on the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 in Quad, Crew, and Mega Cab configurations with all powertrains but the base V-6. Headlining the Harvest Edition are two paint colors: Case IH Red and New Holland Blue. Other upgrades include a one-inch increase in ride height on 1500 models, on/off-road tires, and other farm-ready accessories.

So, what’s the deal with Case and New Holland? Well, both tractor brands are owned by CNH Global – a holding company that also includes Fiat Industrial S.p.A. Ever notice how all the equipment seen in Ram media photos are Case? There’s your answer. (Too bad John Deere isn’t in the mix – that awesome shade of green would look great on a Ram.) Aside from the corporate affiliations and cross-marketing, the Harvest Edition Rams provide a real-life benefit for customers. Not only are the 1500s lifted one inch and come with meaty tires, all models have a specific list of options that cater to daily operations on a farm.

Kenny Chesney might have to write a follow-up song to his hit song. Ram’s long-distance affiliation with Case and New Holland is a match made in heaven. They go together like pickup trucks and farmers. In fact, combined, farmers, trucks, and tractors are pretty much an iconic image of America’s agricultural heartland.

As for the Ram’s Harvest Edition, Ram is offering it on nearly every build combination it makes. The only exceptions are single cabs and the V-6 Ram 1500. Otherwise, the Harvest Edition can be had on anything from a Ram 1500 Quad Cab to a Ram 3500 Mega Cab. Both 2WD and 4WD are available, though I suspect the majority will be ordered with 4WD. Engine choices include the 5.7-liter V-8 for the Ram 1500. The Ram HDs get all three engine choices, including the 5.7-liter, the 6.4-liter V-8, and the venerable 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six turbodiesel.

Coming standard with the Harvest Edition are black side steps, a spray-on bed liner, a fold-out bumper step, mud flaps, underbody skid plates, rubber floor mats, and front tow hooks on 4WD models. Ram HD Harvest Editions come with on/off-road Firestone TransForce tires rated for heavier loads.

Aesthetically, the Ram Harvest Editions get the chrome crosshair grille, chrome bumpers, 17-inch wheels on 1500 models, and 18-inch wheels on HDs. More chrome is found on the door handles and the dual exhaust tips on the 1500. The big upgrade is access to the exact color shade used on Case and New Holland tractors, formally called Case IH Red and New Holland Blue. For those who might own a different brand of tractor, Ram is also offering the Harvest Edition in Bright White, Brilliant Black, and Bright Silver. A two-tone color scheme is also available with Bright Silver as the lower color.

Inside, the Ram Harvest Editions come with the 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system. It includes a Wi-Fi hotspot from its 4G LTE connectivity, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

Prices start at $39,910 for the Ram 1500 and $46,235 for the Ram 2500. Of course, adding larger cab and bed options, upgraded engines, and 4WD drive up the cost. A $1,395 destination charge is then tacked on top.
