It seems that the Laguna is not the only Coupe coming from Renault; a Megane Coupe version is also in the work and will be launched in 2009. Sales will begin in late 2009 at a price of £16,500.

The 2009 Megane Coupe is a successor of the 1996 model, but the new model has a much curvier shape and a more upmarket feel. The two-door is based on a new platform developed in conjunction with partner firm Nissan, and the addition of sporty suspension means the Coupé should offer a fun driving experience.

Up front is an uncluttered nose with a bold Renault badge, distinctive headlights and an air intake positioned in the lower bumper. These combine with a rakish roofline and rising tail to give the car a sensational look. Neat details taken from the Mégane hatch include chunky wheelarches, sharp creases in the wings and distinctive tail-lights.
