Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, the boutique high-performance automaker best known for its SCG 003 monster machine, just released a pair of images teasing its latest design work. Details are scant at this point, but apparently we’ll see this thing debut or the 2020 model year.

The Full Story

Like we mentioned in the intro, details are few and far between at this point, but there are a few things we call pull out of the rather tight-lipped post. For starters, it comes with a single line of text that mentions “SCG004C GTE/GT3/GT4,” suggesting this thing will be eligible for a number of different racing series (GTE, GT3, and GT4). Clearly then, it’s aimed at gentlemen racers looking to get their speed fix.

In addition to the race-worthy version, the post mentions a separate road-legal CS version heading for sale, so we can expect all the crazy performance stuff of the racer (or at least most of the crazy), but with a license plate attached.

It’s expected that each of these models will arrive for the 2020 model year, so look for a full debut some time next year.

The images themselves seem to depict both a front three-quarters view and a high profile view of the car. The aesthetic is definitely sexy, with tons of technical details and an aero-heavy racer vibe. The stance is low and squat, with winglets along the lower fenders and running along the spine, as well as a “swan neck” style rear wing. The weight is centered over the middle of the machine with a centrally-placed cockpit and, presumably, a rear-mid-engine powertrain. We’d also expect a full lightweight carbon-fiber monocoque chassis underneath.

By all accounts and purposes, it looks as though this new model is an evolution of the SCG004. Built as a nod to such greats as the Ferrari P3/4, the SCG004S mounts a Nissan-derived turbocharged 3.8-liter powerplant making upwards of 690 horsepower, routing it all through a six-speed transmission. It also has a central driving position inside the cockpit, much like the McLaren F1.

No pricing was announced for the new model, although the SCG004S will go on sale for about $400,000. Expect this new one to be a bit heavier on the bank account.
