Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus never ceases to amaze. The auto company created by Jim Glickenhaus is preparing its latest performance car, and the latest word is that it’s going to come with the bleeding heart of Godzilla itself. In case the reference escaped you, Godzilla is the Nissan GT-R, and according to Glickenhaus, his new creation, called the SCG004S, will feature the GT-R’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. More importantly, the entry-level version of the supercar will have 690 horsepower at its disposal. A high-performance package will also be offered with more power on tap.

This is what happens when you give an automotive entrepreneur like James Glickenhaus the opportunity to bring his visions to life. It started with the Ferrari P4/5 Competizione earlier this decade. Since then, Glickenhaus created SGC, which opened the doors for performance cars like the SCG003 and the SCG003S. Now, Glickenhaus has a new creation — the SCG004S — that will compete at the 2019 Nurburgring 24 Hours alongside a race-prepped road version that will make the journey to and from the race track. “I will drive the car to the track, and we’ll stick a race engine in it,” Glickenhaus said. “We’re doing it like they used to.” This is how the man rolls.

Specific details about the machine are still unclear, but Glickenhaus did show a number of notable items about it. One is its chassis, which will come in carbon fiber form and will weigh just 2,600 pounds (1,179 kilos). What’s notable about its weight is its relation to the power coming out of that GT-R-sourced turbocharged V-6 engine. Do the math, and you’re looking at a power-to-weight ratio of 585 horsepower per ton, which computes to 85 horsepower more per ton than the McLaren 720S.

Obviously, power and speed aren’t going to be an issue for the SCG004S. So what else is notable about it? Well, according to Glickenhaus, it will adopt the unique three-seater configuration that we first saw on the McLaren F1. That means that the driver will occupy one middle front seat with two passenger seats behind it on either side. It’s an interesting layout, but one that isn’t foreign to any SCG model. In fact, this middle seat arrangement is used in all of Glickenhaus’ models, including the SCG003S.

Beyond these tidbits, it’s still anyone’s guess what Glickenhaus has in store for us with the SCG004S. We do know that it expects to build 250 units of the SCG004S per year beginning in 2020. That business plan is in line with requirements the company has to abide by after being granted legal permission to build its cars in the U.S. as part of SCG receiving Low Volume Manufacturer approval last year. The given output is also a requirement if the company wants to enter the SCG004S at endurance racing competitions like the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and 24 Hours of Le Mans, the latter of which Glickenhaus admitted is the goal of its new supercar.

Pricing for the SCG004S starts at $400,000 with the first 25 models coming in the form of special Founders Edition models. Don’t expect to get your hands on one, though, because the company has said that it has sold out all units for 2018. You can still get the supercar, provided that you put down a $40,000 deposit to reserve a build slot.
