Six months after the 8 Series Coupe dropped at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, BMW has revealed the hotly anticipated 8 Series Convertible, and long story short, it’s quite the looker! YouTube personality Shmee150 got a chance to get up close and personal with the latest topless Bavarian hotrod and documented the experience in this 10-minute, 46-second walkaround video.

German Elegance, Plus More Blue Sky!

Right from the word go, Shmee gives us a nice look at the car’s lines, walking from front to back to show off the panels and their rich pearlescent grey paint. Shmee then demonstrates the roof’s open/closing feature, which is controllable via a button on the key.

Afterward, we get a look at the available cargo space, which is surprisingly ample considering this is a convertible model.

However, one of the coolest things about this video is an in-depth look at the cabin, which includes the digital gauge display, the crystal shifter in the center console, and the control scheme in the infotainment screen.

This particular model is the M850i xDrive, which comes equipped with 530 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission, which is good enough for a sprint to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Not too shabby for a drop-top, no?

Alternatively, BMW is also offering the 8 Series Convertible with a diesel engine, specifically a turbocharged six-cylinder making 320 horsepower. Like the gas-burner, the diesel is also mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD system, with the sprint to 60 mph taking roughly 5.2 seconds.

If you’re as excited about the new 8 Series Convertible as we are, this video is a must-watch!
