With the new BMW X5 now in our lives, rendering artists have begun coming out of the woodwork to present their interpretations of what a BMW X5 M is going to look like. One of these artists, Aksyonov Nikita, has released his rendering of the M-powered X5, and it has a lot of potential.
Aksyonov Nikita certainly didn’t waste any time. Off the bat, you can see that he took a number of elements from other BMW models and integrated into his rendering of the X5 M. The front bumper, for example, appears to have been taken from the M2 Competition. To a lesser extent, the same can be said for the wheels. The M graphics on the bumper and the sides are a nice reminder that this is an X5 M rendering. There’s also a lip spoiler thrown in, one that I’m guessing is made from carbon fiber because no M car has anything but the premium stuff.
Move to the back, and the biggest change you’ll notice is that Nikita didn’t opt for a quad tailpipe setup, something that’s become somewhat of a tradition for past X5 M models. It could be an intentional move, or Nikita may have missed out on that detail. Still, his version with the two rectangular pipes that are joined by a diffuser in the middle looks more aggressive than the one found on the new X5.
There’s not much else going in the rendering that pops out, though overall, it is a solid interpretation of what the X5 M could look like when it arrives in the near future. Details about the actual model are still scarce at this point, but it already has a codename, F95, which means that it’s already being developed.
Without any inkling on the kind of power and performance numbers it has, I expect the new X5 M to use the same 4.4-liter V-8 that’s found in the M5. That should be good for around 600 horsepower, which would be a handful to play with if it’s paired with an eight-speed transmission.
