While I did write extensively about the possible Ford Ranger Raptor Diesel reaching the U.S., it seems that Ford doesn’t have any plans to introduce the Ranger Raptor to the free world. In his talk with Hermann Salenbauch, Ford Performance Director, Autoblog journalists found out that the Raptor “was really developed for locations where the F-150 isn’t available or popular so that all regions could have a Raptor.”

Obviously, reading between the lines shows that the Ranger Raptor isn’t actually coming to the U.S.

The Ford Raptor Is Available To Every Human Everywhere

"To me, the most important thing now is that every human being in the world has access to a Raptor," Jamal Hameedi, previous Ford Performance Chief said.

Obviously, Ford is in a sort of a brand evolution as the company has made extra efforts to change the market landscape worldwide with an aim of solidifying its performance-focused character. The Raptor, whether it is the F-150 or the diesel Ranger Raptor, definitely does it right.

The Ranger Raptor Diesel Would Be Too Slow For The U.S.

Personally, I think that the Ranger Raptor Diesel won’t come to the U.S. because it would simply be too slow and too underwhelming with its performance. Regardless of its off-road proves and the confidence it exports with the cool styling, this is a car that still needs more than 10 seconds to reach 62 mph. That is a lot. Not more. That is what I call a profitable and a worthwhile car. I am sure Ford executives are thinking the same.

Possible Future Ranger Raptor U.S. Adventure

While the current market climate definitely doesn’t suit the Ranger Raptor in the U.S., its future incursions aren’t that unimaginable. The only proper and obvious competition would come in the shape of the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. While we aren’t going to see the current Ranger Raptor in the U.S., if the Ford-truck loving community provides enough clear feedback on the matter, I am sure Ford will deliver.

Ford Ranger Raptor Price

Apart from having a small diesel four-cylinder engine (basically the detriment of Americans across the board), bear in mind that the Ranger Raptor is actually developed for markets outside the U.S. Adapting it for sale here would increase its cost by so much that the Ranger Raptor would probably be nearly as expensive as the F-150 Raptor. That one starts at $50k or so.
