While most of the world is waiting for the official unveiling of the production version BMW i8, BMW ->ke178 engineers are busy testing cars that we are not going to see just yet; like this 4 Series GranCoupe caught in less camo then ever before.

When compared to the 3 Series GT, the new 4 Series GranCoupe rides much lower and has a more elegant body that is sleek and sexy.

The exterior of the new 4 Series GranCoupe will combine design elements recently unveiled by the 4 Series Coupe with a four-door coupe-like look. The engine lineup will also be shared with the recently launched 4 Series Coupe and, depending on the market, will include both gasoline and diesel engines.

Expect the BMW 4 Series GranCoupe->ke3834 to arrive in 2014 as a 2015 model.

The prototype caught testing today by our spy photographers wears less camouflage than ever, revealing most of the sleek coupe-like body. As no surprise, the GranCoupe version borrows lots of its design elements from the coupe version, including the double-kidney grille, twin circular headlights and the large air intake in the front apron.

The sporty feeling of a 4 Series Coupe is combined with the stylish look of a four-door coupe, pretty much like we have seen in the 6 Series GranCoupe.

The rear will be defined by the customary BMW L-shaped taillight design and by a newly designed rear spoiler.
