The BMW X3 is getting a tech refresh in the next year or so, with nearly production-ready versions testing the new LED lights on the roads. Blinkers and low beams and DRLs... oh my!

We expect no major changes under the hood, so the revised X3 will offer the same engine lineup as the current model: a four-cylinder engine and an inline-six for the top version. Most likely BMW will work a bit on improving fuel economy and the output level.

Snappers managed to catch the upcoming revised version of the BMW X3->ke255 testing on the roads of Munich, Germany.

The car started to loose more of its camo, and reveals something very interesting:as revealed by the indicator stripe on top of the headlight, it appears that the revised X3 will focus its looks on the new 3 series LED and grille style.

All the other parts that are going to be updated are still camouflaged, but we pretty much know what to expect from an updated X3. It could the same path as all the other BMW ->ke178 models and will offer revised front and rear bumper, grille and headlights similar to the ones launched in the 3 Series sedan.

The prototype caught testing by our spy photographers wears camouflage only in the parts that are going to be updated: front and rear bumper, grille and headlights. The front bumper will get new air intakes and the grille will be more upright as on the current version.

The new spy shots seem to reveal that the new X3 will get the same headlights that will go all the way into the grille now, just like on the 3 Series.
