Its been more than half a year since our spy photographers caught the upcoming Porsche Macan out testing, but it looks like all Macan chasing has been worth, as today Porsche->ke1 decided to take the Turbo version out for a test drive.

Also, as you can see from these spy shots, the test models have dropped the common black paint and are now painted a glossy gray, which is a clear sign that we are looking at the pre-production models -- no more mules and prototypes. Porsche also removed almost all of the camouflage, leaving stickers only on the headlights and taillights.

In these spy shots you can see the standard Macan and the Turbo version. We can easily distinguish the Turbo model from the standard on, thanks to its more aggressive front end and a different exhaust system with quad tailpipes.

When it comes to the line of powerplants, rumors suggest that the base version will get a four-cylinder engine with 220 horsepower, while the Turbo version will get a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 rated at 370 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.

Spy shots

As no surprise, the upcoming Macan will look almost identical to its bigger brother, the Cayenne, with the exception of dimensions that are closer to the Audi A5->ke1188.

We will see the same front bumper and headlights as the Cayenne->ke212, but the Macan will be a little less aggressive.

The rear will also be identical to the Cayenne, and the Turbo version will distinguish itself with a new quad-tailpipe exhaust system and a sportier spoiler.
