Just yesterday we reported that Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has set a new Laguna Seca record during a recent test drive made by Motor Trend against the new SRT Viper. The time difference between the two models was quite big: 1:33.70 vs. 1:35.77. This result made the new Viper slower than both the Corvette ZR1 and the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR whom held the previous record.

As no surprise, SRT officials were not happy with these results and SRT boss Ralph Gilles expressed his frustration on his Twitter account. According to him, SRT tested both cars at several tracks and never seen a gap like that.

His frustration continues with statements like: "many drivers needlessly fear the Viper", "there's a lot more left in the car, Randy has always struggled with the Viper->ke4220" or "raise your game and you’ll find the last 10 percent."

We are pretty sure that SRT is soon going to Laguna Seca and post an official result, but Motor Trend magazine will also have to say something about his complaints.

The only question is: who's going to make the next move?
