You surely remember Subaru’s record-breaking run at the Isle of Man TT we covered on June 21st. The seven minutes of video evidence is pure driving nirvana as we watch Mark Higgins battle his way around the open road course and around the turns along the hilly British island. Well, Subaru->ke86 has released two more videos surrounding the event, with one being the full, uncut point-of-view shot seen above, and an in-depth look into the changes made to the 2015 WRX STI (below the jump).

The video above is nearly entrancing as you watch the quaint British countryside fly past at 160 mph through the STI’s windshield. Adding to the fun is a voiceover of Higgins walking us through his techniques and inside info on his run. Graphic readouts of his heart rate, temperature, breaths per minute, G forces, speed, and position around the course.

Below the jump, Subaru’s National Manager Dominick Infante runs through the many updates the team did to the otherwise stock 2015 Subaru WRX STI. Among other things, the team added new tires, brake pads, coilover shocks, a straight-pipe exhaust system, GPS trackers, and removed the electronic top speed limiter. For safety, the car gets a roll cage, fire suppression system, a racing seat, and a five-point safety harness.

Be sure to check out both videos for the complete story; the second video is after the jump.

2015 Subaru WRX STI

The WRX STI is basically all-new for 2015 with a much stiffer chassis, a revised 13-to-1 steering ratio, upgraded suspension, and an all-new look. Power comes form the familiar 2.5-liter, boxer four-cylinder kicking out an amazing 305 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque. That power is routed through Subaru’s symmetrical, all-wheel-drive system that makes use of four -- yes four -- differentials to put power down in the best way possible.

Those diffs are located on the front and rear axles, with a mechanical and electronic diff sitting behind the transmission. All that tech helps the WRX STI hit 60 mph in roughly 4.5 seconds on its way to a limited top speed of roughly 130 mph.

Pricing for the WRX STI starts at $34,495 for the base car. The Launch Edition starts at $37,395 while the Limited trim comes in at $38,495. You’ll have to tack on another $795 for destination and delivery.
