Jaguar is preparing its smallest sedan offering, the XE, for a refresh and these spy photos show some of the changes that will be made to it. The car is quite heavily camouflaged, with camo covering most of its lower body but we can spot the redesigned front fascia and possible new rear light cluster design.

Up front, it will get new, slimmer headlights, a redesigned grille, and a new bumper design as well. Since it too is camouflaged, the hood could be changed, although now it’s hard to tell if they’ve changed anything or not.

Around the sides, it doesn’t appear to have suffered any changes whatsoever, while at the back the shape of the rear lights may also have been adjusted - they certainly could have been made a bit slimmer, as they look a bit oversized on the current model, but we cannot even make out their outline on this prototype, so we don’t really know.

Nor do we know of any interior changes Jaguar plans to make inside the XE. The interior currently looks pretty good overall, though, and you only see the quality issues if you really search for them.

Jaguar is most likely going to drop all V-6 versions of the XE with the upcoming facelift. It’s already done so in Europe, and with the expected addition of mild hybrid tech to its turbocharged four-cylinder power plants, it might just prove to be a permanent move across all markets.

It’s also quite comfortable too, blending a good ride with excellent cornering capability better than most rivals.

It is believed Jaguar will unveil the refreshed XE in March of 2019, at next year’s Geneva motor show.
