Audi has finally released technical information for the E-Tron electric SUV, and there are plenty of juicy bits to parse through. Chief among these details is the e-Tron’s power output, which is rated at 355 horsepower and 414 pound-feet of torque, all of which comes from a pair of electric motors. The power output of the e-Tron is just one of many new details Audi released about the electric SUV. Apparently, it also has short-term boost capability, a feature that unlocks the e-Tron’s full power figures — 402 horsepower and 490 pound-feet of torque — albeit for just eight seconds at a time.

The power numbers of the Audi e-Tron aren’t the only figures Audi released. As a result of the SUV’s ability to produce 355 horsepower and 414 pound-feet of torque, the e-Tron is also capable of sprinting from 0 to 62 mph in under six seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 124 mph. Since the model, at its heart, is an electric car, range is also of paramount importance for those who are looking into the e-Tron as a potential personal ride. On that end, the Audi EV makes use of a 95 kWh battery pack that can store enough juice to deliver 248.5 miles between charges. The range is based on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTIP), a laboratory test used to measure fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from passenger cars under conditions defined by EU law. This new test now takes precedence in terms of legitimacy and importance over the outgoing NEDC test cycle.

Speaking of the e-Tron’s range, the electric vehicle has an ace up its sleeve in the form of a recuperation system that can extend overall range by as much as 30 percent. According to Audi, the e-Tron comes with three different recuperation modes that can recharge the battery pack as often as possible. It has brake energy recuperation, automatic coasting recuperation, and manual coasting recuperation. When used properly, the e-Tron can recuperate one kilometer of range (0.62 miles) for every kilometer (0.62 miles) the SUV is driven downhill. Even more remarkable is Audi’s claim that “no series production model has achieved such a value up to now.”

Given what we know and expect about the e-Tron, it’s clear from these technical numbers that the electric SUV has more to offer than what we expected. It’s made the model more appealing ahead of its debut, which is likely to happen at the 2018 Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

And if you want to get even more excited about Audi’s e-Tron lineup, rest assured that the fun’s just getting started. The automaker’s family of EVs is expected to grow in the future to include the e-Tron Sportback, e-Tron GT sedan, and perhaps even an electric supercar that may or may not appear at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
