James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke is arguably one of the most captivating segments in late night television these days. The British talk show host always seems to get heavyweight celebrities to ride shotgun with him going to work, but in the most recent installation of Carpool Karaoke, Corden flipped the script when he went to Willow Springs in the Mojave Desert to meet up three of his compatriots, namely Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond, otherwise known as the hosts of Carpool Karaoke, for a game called “The Grand Tour Grand Racing Quiz.”

The segment deviates away from the structure of Carpool Karaoke as Corden is driven around by the three hosts in the new Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport. The twist is that while they’re driving, the former Carpool Karaoke trio must answer trivia questions from Corden. Every wrong answer they get adds another second to their lap times and whoever posts the fastest time is declared the winner. Seems straight-forward enough, right?

Clarkson went first and Corden asked him if he misses Top Gear. His response? “Oooh, ask me about idiots and politics." May then went next and as always, he seemed to answer the most number of questions, only because it looked like he was taking a leisurely trip around Willow Springs. Hammond was the last to give it a go and his lap time proved to be the most chaotic, thanks in large part to a mid-ride interruption from no less than OnStar Emergency.

The segment is typical of what you’d expect from James Corden and Carpool Karaoke trio. There were plenty of laughs of both the legitimate and manufactured kind. Best of all, the segment serves as a nice reminder that the upcoming return of Clarkson, May, and Hammond is drawing closer and closer.
