The all-new Veloster will be introduced to the world at the Thunderhill Raceway track in Northern California, before its official market launch later this year. What makes this Veloster special is that it’s the first ‘N’ model from the South Korean brand here in the U.S. The Veloster N has been developed at Hyundai’s facility at the Nurburgring, and it poses a serious threat to the hot-hatch market.
The Hyundai Veloster N Is a Performer
The Hyundai Veloster N will be offered in four different exterior colors: Racing Red, Chalk White, N-exclusive Performance Blue, and Ultra Black. The automaker claims that the Veloster N will be the perfect blend of a daily-commuter and a truly fast car that offers driving thrills to satisfy that adrenaline rush in you. Opt for the performance package, and you can get 25 extra ponies and 15 extra pound-feet of torque. The Veloster N is offered with a six-speed manual transmission system only, and it includes a rev-matching function perfect downshifts. The automaker says that Veloster N will deliver 22 miles per gallon in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined.

Hyundai Veloster N Chassis
The Veloster N features Hyundai’s ‘N Power Sense Axle’ design, which features a zero-scrub radius for quicker response, more precise steering inputs, and a more direct feel. The suspension setup is electronically-controlled to reduce nose-dip during hard braking and body control during cornering. To enhance and amplify this all the more, there’s also an Electronic Sound Generator. Power can be sent to the ground via an optional torque-vectoring limited-slip differential.

It will be interesting to see how the Veloster N will fare in the U.S. Being the first performance model from the South Korean’s stable; there will be skepticisms and apprehensions. Do you think the car will be a hit? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
