Between getting attacked by Argentinian nationalists and using grand touring cars to herd cattle in Australia, the blokes at Top Gear haven’t had a lot of time for housekeeping in the first few episodes of their 22nd series. Unfortunately, that means we’ve yet to see The Stig flog any of the latest supercars->ke177 around Top Gear’s Dunsfold, England test track.

But, thanks to technology, Top Gear has just released an on-board video of The Stig setting a lap time in the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. The Huracan has caught a bit of flak for perhaps not being quite as sharp as its rivals from Ferrari and McLaren, but it far exceeded expectations by posting a time of 1:15.8. Good enough for fourth on the Top Gear Power Lap board, and faster than its more expensive V-12-powered sibling, the Aventador. It’s also less than a second off the lap time set by the third-place Ariel Atom V8 500. The Pagani Huayra->ke3763 and BAC Mono still occupy first and second, respectively, while the McLaren MP4-12C->ke3514 rounds out the top five. All those cars will likely get knocked down a few pegs if The Stig gets his hands on a LaFerrari->ke4626 or McLaren P1 this season.

As you would imagine, the Huracan’s all-wheel drive is a valuable asset for the standing start and when exiting the corner. There appears to be a decent amount of oversteer when braking, but overall, it looks incredibly stable and poised. The 602-horsepower, 5.2-liter V-10 handles the duties of firing the Lambo from turn to turn.
