Overlanding has exploded in popularity and people the world over are getting into the hobby. But traveling long distances over rough terrain for hundreds of miles isn’t easy – especially when trying to bring all the comforts of modern-day glamping. That’s where Bruder comes in. This Australian firm has developed a highly sophisticated travel trailer built to withstand sever off-road environments and follow where only hard-core SUVs and pickups dare travel.

It’s called the Bruder EXP-6 and it boasts a body-on-frame construction with automotive-grade rubber body mounts that isolate chassis vibrations from the 30 millimeter-thick composite body. A four-wheel independent suspension uses unique control arms that are independently sprung via an air suspension. The suspension can be individually controlled, allowing the camper to be raised, lowered, and leveled, all from a smartphone app. The Bruder rides on mud-terrain tires for maximum grip and even features an electric recovery winch and tow hooks should things get stuck.

Inside, there’s room for six people thanks to the pop-up roof, folding couches, and queen-size bed. There’s a full kitchen and bathroom, complete with a sink, stove, fridge/freezer, toilet, washbasin, and shower. Naturally, the EXP-6 has air conditioning and heat to keep travelers comfy. Surprisingly, the trailer only weights around 4,200 pounds, so it’s within the weight class of most SUVs. Surprisingly, its price tag is within the reach of most folks in the market for an up-scale camper. It retails for $105,000 in Australia, which currently converts to $83,400 U.S. dollars. Best of all, the Bruder is available world-wide, meaning anyone with enough coin can travel the world behind their SUV.
