If there’s anything other than the Great Wall of China that can be seen from the moon, it has got to be the BMW’s latest kidney grilles. Even though people were critically vocal about big grille on the 2019 BMW X7, the German automaker does not seem to be affected by it. Now, a picture has surfaced that shows the 2020 BMW 7 Series sedan with an even larger grille slapped on it. Strike that. It shows a huge kidney grille with a BMW 7 Series slapped onto it.

Outside of the Grille, The 2020 BMW 7 Series Looks Great

This image seems to have been taken at a private event organized by the Bavarian to showcase the 7 Series LCI. The luxurious sedan was seen sporting a set of reworked headlights, probably of the laser variety, and a restyled front bumper. The car in question could be equipped with the M Sport package since it had huge air intakes as well. BMW has also redesigned the hood and there are now two large recesses on its sides, giving it a muscular look.

2020 BMW 7 Series Offerings

According to BMW Blog, the automaker has reworked the goods under the hood as well. The 750i could see the power swell up to 523 or 530 horses and 553 pound-feet of torque. The 745e plug-in hybrid, on the other hand, will pack a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder unit with an electric motor that could produce a combined power output of 388 ponies and 442 pound-feet of torque. As for the range-topping M760i, it will return to European markets after being updated with the Otto particulate filter to comply with emissions regulations, and it should produce around 600 horses.

Conclusion

Pricing is not yet out, but we'll probably find out more when the car finally makes its debut in the very near future. The good news is that all the aforementioned powertrain options will be made available in the States. Do you think the kidney grille could be the deciding factor for a customer? We think it will play a ‘huge, gigantic’ role. Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
