Germans are going to Tokyo! The three big makers of Germany:Audi, BMW and Volkswagen will go to the Tokyo Auto Show with innovative concepts.

Audi will unveil the first concept of the A1, which will be positioned below its entry-premium A3. The concept will suggest the size, proportions and overall design theme of the production car, which is due in 2009.

As we reported previously, Volkswagen will bring more version of the Up! Concept: a five-door minivan version of its Up concept is to be unveiled in Tokyo. A production version will follow in 2010.

BMW will use the show to debut a concept based on the 1-series architecture, company sources said. But a BMW spokesperson denied it would be the X1 small SUV.
