The Volkswagen Touareg 2 makes its big screen debut in Universal Pictures' "The Bourne Ultimatum" which will be released in theatres starting August 3, 2007.

"This action packed film is a great way to showcase the capabilities of the Touareg 2 and introduce this more powerful, safer and versatile new vehicle into the US market," said Steve Keyes, General Manager Public Relations for Volkswagen of America.

This late summer release has allowed Volkswagen to continue its strong Hollywood presence and incorporate the Touareg 2 - which is featured in some amazing stunt and chase sequences.  The Bourne stunt team was extremely impressed with the features and performance of the vehicle, most notably in a climactic chase scene set in New York.  "This vehicle is indestructible.  We filmed crash scenes for three weeks, and the Touareg 2 kept going.  This is one of the most incredible vehicles that I have ever driven," marveled Graham Kelly, Action Vehicle Supervisor.

In the film, the Touareg 2 is driven by Paz, Bourne's most tenacious pursuer (played by Edgar Ramirez).  Showing off the versatility and power of the vehicle, Paz's Touareg 2 chases a stolen NYC police car through the streets of Manhattan, facing obstacle after obstacle on the most unpredictable streets in the world.  Another Volkswagen, the Golf GT Sport, also makes an appearance and is used by Nicky Parsons, played once again by Julia Stiles.  This vehicle is used to assist Jason Bourne as he flees from Madrid to Tangier.
