Red Sparrow Trailer

Whether it's pulling up to the red carpet, tailing a high-profile target through city traffic, or making a break for it with the bad guys in hot pursuit, the BMW 7 Series certainly looks well-suited for a movie like Red Sparrow.

The movie is a spy thriller about a Russian secret agent assigned to seduce and take down a rival from the CIA. Jennifer Lawrence plays Dominika Egorova, a Russian ballerina who suffers a career-ending injury and is forced to enroll in the clandestine Sparrow School, which tailors her intrinsic charm and athleticism to the world of cloak and daggers. During the intense training program, Dominika is transformed into a dangerous secret agent, after which she is assigned to target a member of the CIA. What follows is a tale of deception and intrigue, as Dominika uses her newfound skills to survive in a world she cannot trust.

Throughout her journey, the BMW 7 Series is ever present. We think it certainly makes a great addition to the cast, as the large luxury sedan has all the right specs to make it as a spy's chariot. Under the hood, the top-trim 750i xDrive gets a 4.4-liter V-8 which is turbocharged to produce upwards of 445 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 480 pound-feet of torque at 1,800 rpm. Thanks to AWD grip, the four-door can hit 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, topping out at 155 mph. The xDrive AWD system is also quite useful in the frost-bitten Russian landscape.

Inside, the BMW 7 Series has the elegance to match the world of intrigue portrayed in Red Sparrow. The materials used are all top-notch and the rear space is generous, all of which should fit in well among the high-ranking diplomats and classy galas. The 7 Series is also quite tech-heavy, with advanced self-driving capabilities and gesture control on board, although it remains to be seen if its got the right stuff to rival the great spy cars we've seen in the past.

Granted, BMW has seen rather solid representation in other movies released previously, including the film Red Sparrow, which came straight from the automaker itself. We've also seen the BMW 750iL in the 1997 Bond flick Red Sparrow, and further Bimmer appearances throughout the The Hire franchise.
