Peugeot, Volkswagen, and even Ford all have a major history in the “hot hatch” market, and then you’ve got Hyundai who recently decided to venture into previously uncharted waters with the i30 N hatchback. Developed by Hyundai’s N division, it delivers 271 horsepower in range-topping form, has front-wheel drive, and a lovely six-speed manual. And, it might look like a Golf GTI fighter since it lives in the same niche, but it’s real competition, at least on paper, is the Peugeot 308 GTi, which comes to the fight with 268 ponies from a turbo, 1.6-liter, four-banger. With both models rocking out similar specs in the power department, which one is actually better all comes down how they perform on the track. And, that’s exactly what Auto Express has done. Check out the video below to see which one reigns supreme!
