For all the attention the movie "Rush" has garnered in these pages the past few months, it's important to know that there's another movie coming out on September 6th, 2013 that auto nuts should keep a close eye on.

The movie is called "Snake & Mongoose" and if you're a drag racing fan, you might recognize the title by the nicknames given to two of the best drag racers in the world, Don "The Snake" Prudhomme and Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen.

Suffice to say, Prudhomme and McEwen were the top of the class in terms of drag racing->ke446 back then. But they also had a heated rivalry that, while not in the level of James Hunt and Niki Lauda, was still responsible for putting drag racing into mainstream consciousness.

The two Southern Californian drag racers joined forces with big corporations, which eventually led to the change that included Hot Wheels entering the drag racing scene with the release of its first hot rod cars in 1970.

It won't get the same pub and hype as Rush, but rest assured, Snake and Mongoose is a movie everybody with a remote love for cars and drag racing should look out for.
