While Fast & Furious 8 continues to rake in money at the box office, Vin Diesel is keeping fans pumped for the next installment in the Fast and Furious movie franchise. It has already been revealed that the next movie will take place in New York City and will be released on April 14, 2017, but this is the first official image for Tomorrowland.

The single image confirms these early details with a shot of the New York City skyline and a promise of “Summer 2017.” Aside from these details and the certainty of car chases, destruction and overall mayhem, there’s no telling which direction this new movie will go – or if there’s even a script for the movie yet. Diesel’s teaser does show a diamond-plated “Fast & Furious” and a mud-splattered “8” possibly suggesting a continuation of 7’s off-road action, but that is just a guess.

Why it matters

There is still no information about Fast & Furious 8 (including whether or not it will keep that name), but the new movie is expected to bring back the whole crew and possibly even add Paul Walker’s brother to play the brother of Brian O’Conner in the film.
