The other days there were rumors saying that the future generation Golf will not come to the North American market, but today Volkswagen of America said it is proceeding with plans to launch the next-generation Golf hatchback in the U.S. in fall 2009.

Volkswagen of America spokesman Steve Keyes said: "We are currently planning the new Golf VI and GTI introduction for the fall of next year. The estimated volumes are already included in our 2009 financials."

Golf VI will make its world debut this autumn at the Paris Auto Show. The Golf VI will be more than a facelift: modified exterior, better interior and new engine line-up, and not to forget will be cheaper than the current generation Golf. That will mean that for, lets say 16.000 euro you will get a better car than today.
