The teasing game is coming in hot and heavy as we count down the days to the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. Volkswagen is the latest automaker to give us a bite of that apple with a teaser video of the Vizzion Concept. The brief glimpse of the concept — it lasted a little over two seconds — reveals what we’ve been suspecting since renderings of the “premium class saloon" concept were released a week ago: the Vizzion Concept will have a front lighting fixture that extends the whole width of the car, among other features.

There’s a lot to be excited about when it comes to the Vizzion Concept. Judging by its recent form, Volkswagen’s concepts have become more and more unconventional. That’s meant as a compliment, by the way. The Vizzion Concept appears to have been made with the same principle in mind. That width-wide lighting design isn’t new — we saw it in the I.D. Crozz Concept at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show — but it’s designed differently on the Vizzion Concept. The thin headlamps are integrated into the front grille, creating a long — and lighted — rectangular bar that’s broken off only by the automaker’s circular badge that also happens to be backlit. There is a red trim design around the headlamps that slopes down into the bumper. It’s unclear if those things light up as well, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it did. Based on the previous renderings, the nose of the concept drops significantly to the bumper and the aggressive front splitter.

The new teaser is also a follow-up to a previous teaser vid that showed an on-board hologram hovering over a round button in the area where the central tunnel should be. We don’t know what that’s about, but Volkswagen did say that the Vizzion Concept will have its share of state-of-the-art tech features, including a “digital chauffeur” that can control the vehicle while occupants interact with a virtual host through voice or gestures. In other words, artificial intelligence is coming to Volkswagen.

If you’re not prepared for that, you can take comfort knowing that the Vizzion Concept will still get a more “traditional” powertrain in the form of two electric motors. Combined, they produce a total of 302 horsepower, spread across both axles. It’s said to have a top speed of 112 mph, and, more importantly, a range of up to 413 miles “when braking regeneration is factored in.”

Regardless of your expectations, this is what the future is like for Volkswagen. Concepts with light bars, braking regeneration, and on-board holograms and AI are becoming the norm for VW. It’s time we all start getting used to it.
