The original Bullitt Mustang is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and, while that's going on, a brand-new sixth-generation Mustang with the Bullitt package headed for the emblematic Isle of Man to tackle the TT course. Yes, that idolized ribbon of road.

Held annually in May or June for over a century, the Isle of Man TT races, where TT stands for Tourist Trophy, are arguably the most dangerous races you can attend. Year in and year out, riders dabble on the edge of disaster and disaster does strike some of them. That's because the TT is run on the B-roads that go around the picturesque Isle of Man.

The whole road course stretches over 37 miles and, along the way, you encounter hills, jumps, dips, houses, towns, just about everything you can imagine. There's no room for error and, in spite of that, the current lap record translates to an astounding 135 mph average speed. Ford took a 2019 Mustang Bullitt to the island for its latest installment in the series that talks about Europe's greatest driving roads.

An island with amazing roads and no speed limit? That's the place to be for a Mustang Bullitt!

Steve Sutcliffe, who's the man that guides you through each and every episode of the 6-episode series, described the Isle of Man perfectly: "Imagine German autobahns, then add hills and twists, and shrink it to a single carriageway with incredible views, and what you have are these utterly fantastic, and dramatic, roads”.

This episode is, maybe, the most exciting as you rarely get to see a car drive around the Mountain Road at speed. As Sutcliffe puts it, the race course "feels—and is—an utterly dramatic place to drive. It’s epic, and quite unlike anywhere else".

The car of choice for this film is the 2019 Mustang Bullitt which was unveiled earlier this year. As you'll notice, the front grille lacks any logos or badges of any kind although the chromed frame is in place. The wheels are different to the standard GT as the Bullitt comes with 19-inch alloys that evoke the spirit of the original Torque Thrust rims.

The Bullitt is powered by an upgraded version of the 5.0-liter V-8 which develops 475 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. This translates into a top speed of 163 mph. What is more, as you'll hear in the video, this car sounds amazing - better than your regular 'Stang. That's because it comes with an active valve performance exhaust system with new Black NitroPlate exhaust tips and a Shelby GT350 intake manifold.

This means that you have to take a break from whatever you're doing, turn the volume up and listen to the Bullitt Mustang as it ravages through the Isle of Man intertwined with Sutcliffe's commentary.
