Ever dreamed of owning the limited-production 911R? Who hasn’t, right? Well, now’s your chance to get your hands on one; in fact, you can even build one yourself. Porsche has collaborated with Ravensburger to launch a 3D puzzle version of the legendry car that was first built over 50 years ago. What a time to be alive!

This Is a D-I-Y Project For The Motorheads

Ravensburger and Porsche have jointly created a 1:18 scale model of the 911 R. The only rouse we have is that it doesn’t get the 911 R’s drool-worthy 4.0-liter, six-cylinder that produces 493 horses. Olivier Eidam, Head of Brand Partnerships and Sponsoring at Porsche, said: “We were excited to be involved in such a project, working together with our partner Ravensburger to recreate one of our iconic sports cars–no other than the 911 R–in the form of a 3D puzzle”.

“It was a challenge to recreate the iconic shape of the Porsche 911 R as accurately and in as much detail as possible”, says Martin Fischer, a development engineer at Ravensburger. “That and dividing up the puzzle segments were the most complex steps from a technical point of view.” Good news is that this is just the beginning of a long-term collaboration. So, we might get to see other Porsche models miniaturized as well. The puzzle is retailing at $35 a pop and can be availed at the online, or physical stores of both the companies.

Our Take

Whoever came up with this idea needs to be patted on the back. Since the car is technically being launched again, can we call it the third generation? And, we hope this time it’s not a limited-production car. Share your thoughts in the comments section below, while I go get myself a 911 R!
