Caravaggio Corvettes managed to reconnect the words luxury and Corvette one more time. As we all know, the latest Corvette is quite a car, especially in its high-end forms like the Z06 or the ZR1. However, even its best trim lacked the sophistication and luxurious layout that could be compared with anything similar from Europe. Caravaggio Corvettes, a Corvette modification company known for its specialized approach to customizing Corvettes, designed a new interior, garnished it with leather and other exclusive materials, then actually showcased two tricked out cars.

Exterior Design

The outside, on the other hand, does complement the changes in the cabin. Not only did Caravaggio Corvettes integrate new custom wheels (20 inches up front, and 21-inch wheels at the back), but the Corvette got an all-new body-kit. Made of carbon fiber, it actually complements the changes made to the inside. The kit is made of carbon-fiber pieces with the same weave pattern as the pieces used inside. Kinda cool.

As the final touch for the exterior, Caravaggio painted parts of the front lights transforming them into pieces looking much like the ones you’d find on recent Ferrari cars.

Interior Design

This Corvette features a newly designed interior lined with unique leather and exclusive design which, in my mind, actually improves on what GM offered in the first place. As is the case with many other custom tuner shops, one can personalize any piece of the interior with the help of Caravaggio designers. Yet, the cars you can actually see here do not feel in need of any additional mods. First off, both Corvettes - the black one and the silver one - received new Sebring seats. The silver car's seats are finished in Bengalot leather while the black Corvette Z06 features Linie leather. Finally, Caravaggio Corvettes garnished the cabin with added leather covering every imaginable surface inside. This only elevated the exclusivity of the Corvette's interior.

Increased Performance

While one may conclude that Caravaggio was only concerned with the cosmetics of the inside and the outside, the technicians there actually updated the engine as well. The already madly powerful ZR1 V-8 gained underdrive pulleys, cold-air intakes, stainless steel headers and a custom ECU remap that was enough for the power increase to 730 horsepower and 730 pound-feet of torque. Quite a gain. Unfortunately, the tuner did not reveal any performance data, but you may only imagine that the ZR1 is far more brutal than the car that leaves the factory floor.

Expensive Pricing

Yet, the prices for a rework like this seem to be out of this world.

-* Wheels? $12,500!

-* Engine tune up? $7,500!

-* Interior modification? $32,500!

-* Exterior work? $26,500!

Ok, I did write down prices for the Silver car here as it is the more expensive of the two, but the cumulative upgrade cost for the Black one comes in at $68,000 too. Obviously, Caravaggio Corvettes takes a lot of pride in its work, basically doubling the price of the ZR1.

The attention to detail is definitely high, and the end result does feel special, but let me tell you right away, you could buy two Corvette ZR1 cars for the kind of money you’d need for one of these. Would you go for the Caravaggio Corvette mods?
