The fourth-generation Chevrolet Silverado broke cover in late 2017 with a brand-new design on the outside, all-new tech on the inside, and a range of drivetrain upgrades. Come 2018 and Chevrolet offers optional, dealer-available upgrades through its Performance and Accessories division. The Silverado LTZ Concept was created specifically to showcase some of these items before they go on sale.

Unveiled at the State Fair of Texas, the same city where the new-generation truck was introduced, the LTZ Concept is based on the LTZ Z71 trim and features three upgrades from Chevrolet Performance and eight items from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog. It's not a concept in the true sense, as it doesn't showcase futuristic designs or technologies, but it's a good preview for the many ways you can customize a Silverado nowadays. The LTZ Concept will go on display at the 2018 SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas too.

What makes the Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Concept special

For starters, it includes all the Z71-specific features, including the unique lower bumper and chrome grille design. In addition, it rides on a set of new 22-inch chrome, multi-spoke aluminum wheels, and sports a black, illuminated Bowtie emblem on the front grille.

It also has chrome wheel-to-wheel, six-inch assist steps, and a retractable tonneau cover made by Advantage. The exterior is rounded off by a Bowtie logo on the new exhaust tip that comes with the upgraded exhaust system.

Inside the cabin, Chevy added all-weather floor liners with Z71 badge inserts and an under seat organizer. The upscale part begins in the rear with a rear-seat entertainment system, but Chevy also made a big upgrade in the tech department.

Specifically, it added a Trailering Camera Package, which consists from a removable accessory camera that can be mounted to a trailer and viewed through the vehicle’s center stack display. The concept also boats the unique gauge cluster, unique trim plates, and the brushed metal door sills of the Z71 package.

Under the hood of the LTZ Concept lurks the familiar 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V-8 engine. Most likely the engine generates the same 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque as the standard unit. But while output is the same, the brakes are stronger thanks to the six-piston Brembo system at the front wheels.

All these accessories and performance upgrades are or will become available at dealers for the 2019 model year. The same goes for the trailering technologies, so you can build your very own LTZ concept using options from Chevrolet Performance and Chevrolet Accessories.
