Citroen has announced that it is launching a new model, specifically geared towards further strengthening the Company's standing in the massive Chinese marketplace.

The C-Triomphe is a booted version of the C4, and will go on sale from the end of the second-quarter of 2006.

The launch of the C-Triomphe, which is based on the the C4, is designed to meet demand within the expanding Chinese market.  Its three-box design is the preferred bodystyle of car buyers in China, a country in which the Marque achieved an impressive 34% sales increase to over 100,000 cars in 2005.

Built in the city of Wuhan, some 600 miles south of Beijing, the C-Triomphe sits on an extended C4 platform with a 2.71 metre wheelbase that gives it real on-the-road presence. From the outside, the obvious difference compared to the C4 models seen on the UK's roads is the large 513 litre boot.  This is framed by boomerang shaped lights and chrome trim, which also runs the length of the vehicle waistline, contributing to the elegant look.

Citroen's spacious C-Triomphe equipped with a 150bhp 2.0i 16v petrol engine and offers all of the features that UK buyers have come to expect of the great value, 5 star Euro NCAP rated C4, such as a fixed centred controls steering wheel, dual-function directional headlamps, scented air freshener, speed limiter and cruise control.

In addition there is a host of features unique to this model, such as a 60:40 split/fold rear seat, a rear window sunblind, drawers underneath the rear seats and electrically controlled front seats, while wood trim adorns the dashboard and door panels.
