The Ferrari 488 GTB is one heck of a supercar. It’s got a design that’ll make the most hardened of men swoon. It packs a 3.9-liter turbocharged V-8 engine that pumps out 670 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. Those are strong numbers and yet, the spirit of aftermarket tuning has always been to take what an automaker's finished product and add to it. One look at Novitec Rosso’s new program for the 488 GTB and it’s clear that even if the Ferrari’s standard output is impressive, 772 horsepower and 658 pound-feet of torque is much better.

Those are the numbers that Novitec Rosso was able to come up with after engaging the 488 GTB with an engine upgrade that involves a lot of new components and an equal number of modified ones. The tuner also worked on the supercar’s exterior, streamlining the body with an aero kit as well as a new set of high-performance wheels. And if those aren’t enough, the program also comes with an interior upgrade that’s entirely personalized depending on the tastes and preferences of prospective customers.

This is what owners of the 488 GTB are in line for should they let Novitec Rosso install its tuning kit into their Ferraris. The tuner has built a reputation for aftermarket excellence and this new program for the 488 GTB is the latest proof of that.

Exterior

A full carbon fiber body was installed into the Ferrari 488 GTB and while it doesn’t do too much in dramatically altering the supercar’s looks, it did create a more aggressive design, highlighted by the front lip spoiler, air intake fins, side skirts, rear diffusor, and the fixed rear wing. Other cosmetic upgrades include carbon fiber covers for the mirrors, taillights, fog lights, and the diffuser.

A new set of 21-inch, tailor-made forged wheels are also included in the program. These wheels come in a choice of four different colors options – silver, black, anthracite, and custom – and are wrapped in high-performance Pirelli tires measuring 255/30 ZR 21 at the front and 325/25 ZR 21 at the back. A set of 22-inch wheels are also available and can be shod in the same set of Pirellis. It does come with an extra cost, so be mindful of the added charges.

Interior

Novitec Rosso didn’t release any photos of the interior upgrades, but it did say that it has numerous customization options available for the car. Prospective customers are more than welcome to choose among a range of components, including carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara upholsteries.

Drivetrain

Living up to its reputation as one of the most notable Ferrari tuners in the business, Novitec Rosso presented three different engine upgrade programs that are equal parts potent and comprehensive. The most modest of these upgrades comes with a pair of the tuner’s very own N-Tronic module, a processor-controlled device that can be connected to the 488 GTB’s OEM engine management unit. It’s completely plug-and-play, which makes it easy to install and can be activated and deactivated from the steering wheel. This upgrade helps bring the Ferrari’s output up to 756 horsepower and 647 pound-feet of torque.

If the extra output generated by the N-Tronic module isn’t enough, the tuner is also offering a Stage 2 kit that also includes a stainless steel exhaust system with Novitec’s own tailpipes, a new mesh insert, and a catalyst-replacement pipe. This brings the total output up to the aforementioned 772 horsepower and 658 pound-feet of torque. There’s also a Stage 3 kit, which, oddly enough, adds less power than the Stage 2 kit. The components are the same as the Stage 2 kit, but according to Novitec, this kit only brings the output up to 764 horsepower and 655 pound-feet of torque.

The bottom line here is that with the performance modifications in tow, Novitec Rosso claims that the 488 GTB is capable of cutting its sprint time to 62 mph by two-tenths of a second, bringing it down to just 2.8 seconds. Likewise, top speed has been increased to 212 mph.

Chassis and Suspension

With all the power improvements given to the 488 GBT, Novitec Rosso made sure to match those with the proper chassis and suspension upgrades. As such, the tuner is offering a 1.57-inch hydraulic adjustment at the front axle together with a new suspension spring set.

Pricing

The tuner didn't specifically announce the price of the tuning program. It does have the full catalog up on its website so prospective customers can pick and choose the kind of upgrades they'd like. The overall price will largely be dependent on the items chosen so it's best to contact Novitec Rosso directly to get an accurate price quote.

Ferrari 488 GTB 4XX Siracusa By Mansory

Novitec Rosso is far from the only tuner that has built a program for the 488 GTB ever since Ferrari launched the car at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Mansory also has a kit of its own, called the 4XX Siracusa, which it unveiled in March 2016. It features an extensive aerodynamic kit, a fully upgraded interior, and an engine modification that’s made up of an optimized ECU unit and a new, specially designed sports exhaust system. As a result, the German tuner was able to crack up the output 790 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque. The result is as expected. With the upgrades, the 488 GBT is now able to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, one-tenth of a second quicker than the standard model, to go with a new top speed of 211 mph.

Ferrari 488 GTB by Alpha-N Performance

Meanwhile, there’s also Alpha-N Performance, which has a kit of its own for the Ferrari 488 GTB. This particular program relies on the tuner’s very own EVOX performance ECU upgrade, which is able to squeeze out a total of 790 horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque, slightly more than what either Novitec Rosso or Mansory were able to do. No performance numbers were announced, but considering the nature of this kit, a sprint time to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds to go with a top speed of 212 mph should be in the cards.
