What makes the Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle Package special

Beyond the F-150 Special Service Vehicle’s trim, cab, and drivetrain options, Ford offers plenty to upgrades for specific jobs. As seen in the photos, there’s an option for a K9 cage, a front push bumper, a computer console, and a lighting package that includes a full-size light bar mounted on a headache rack.

Inside, the standard features include vinyl floors for easy clean-up, a vinyl bench seat in the rear that replaces the cloth bench, and two bucket seats up front with space in between for police electronic equipment.

These trucks will likely become popular with police departments, park services, fire departments, border patrol, and government vehicles. The scariest of all, however, will be the un-marked patrol vehicle. Imagine getting pulled over by an un-marked F-150 that was hiding in plain sight.

Under the hood, the truck offers four engine options: the 3.5-liter V-6, the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6, the 5.0-liter V-8, and the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6. All are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and can be paired with either rear-wheel driver or the optional 4WD system.
