In 2011, Jeep->ke40 is turning 70 years old, which means that we’re going to be seeing a year-long celebration from these guys consisting of parties, promotions, and special edition vehicles.

Well, it didn’t take long for them to cross one off of their list. At the Detroit Auto Show, Jeep rolled out five special edition models for the Compass->ke40, Grand Cherokee->ke936, Liberty->ke2404, Patriot->ke1383, and Wrangler->ke425 SUVs. Despite the special edition labels attached to them, the five anniversary models don’t come with a lot of exterior and performance upgrades with Jeep focusing instead on the SUVs' interior. Not that we’re complaining or anything because those interior upgrades look mighty nice as far as we’re concerned.

The cheapest option of the five models will be the Patriot 70th Anniversary Edition, which has been priced at $22,870. It’s a far cry from the line-up topping Grand Cherokee, which comes at $36,495, but if anyone is looking for a special edition 70th Anniversary Jeep that comes at an affordable price, the Patriot version is the best option available.
