Jeep is gearing up for a week of off-roading fun as the annual Moab Safari will soon get underway. As such, the brand is introducing no less than seven 4WD rough-stuff machines, including this yellow creation appropriately dubbed the Nacho Jeep. It’s a spicy combo of upgraded hardware that should perform quite well at the legendary dirt paradise, bringing extra ponies, greater off-road protection, a lifted stance, and beefy 37-inch tires.

What Makes The Nacho Jeep Special

Based on a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon model, the Nacho Jeep was created to offer “a blueprint off-roaders can follow to create their own custom trail vehicle.” To that end, it comes decked out with a variety of extras pulled from the Mopar catalog of performance parts.

Of course, the first thing you’ll notice is that it’s covered in a “rare” Nacho yellow paint scheme. Up front is a satin black Mopar grille, which does well to offset the bright yellow paint on the body panels. Speaking of bright, there’s also a selection of LED lights mounted to the A-pillar and brush guard, a touch that was inspired by the Jeep Luminator concept that showed last year in Moab.

The lights were sourced from the Automotive Lighting division of Magneti Marelli, and are mounted to JPP brackets. There’s also LED header lights on the windshield, plus a rear scouting light with several different LED colors used to communicate the trail conditions to those bringing up the rear (red for stop, amber for 1 to 3 mph, green for 3 to 25 mph). The rear scout light can also project white and act as a rear-facing flood light.

The front end is fortified thanks to a rubicon bumper made from steel, offering a good deal of protection from wayward rocks and hard stuff. A Warn Winch was also added to help get the vehicle out of any sticky situation.

There’s also bigger rock rails, which get a tough coating similar to the bed liner of a truck, plus 2-inch tube doors and embossed grab handles to round it off.

The nose is complete with a new performance hood that gets a standard black graphic and Jeep badging, both of which look great against the yellow paint and black fascia. The hood was also designed to accommodate a new cold-air intake, which provides nice dense atmosphere to the turbo 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, adding a few ponies in the process.

The Nacho Jeep gets a 2-inch lift to keep it floating above the terrain, plus 2.5-inch diameter aluminum body shocks. The tires are huge 37-inchers, and come mounted on 17-inch beadlock wheels finished in a satin-carbon color. The beadlocks trim rings get a high-gloss backing and cadmium-plated bolts.

There’s also a spare tire tailgate hinge that’s equipped with a full 37-inch replacement, and the JPP fuel door adds an additional black touch.

Finally, the Nacho Jeep gets Katzkin leather upholstery in the cabin, finished in black and complete with in an embroidered Jeep logo, plus light tungsten stitching, and seat bolster accents.
