The Range Rover Evoque->ke3666 has blown plenty of minds since its debut in 2011; yours truly included. It's sporty, sexy, stylish, fast, luxurious and just looks mean as hell. Things just keep on getting better each and every year for the Evoque, as today, Land Rover->ke46 announced an new variant of the SUV->ke145 that will hit dealers in time for the 2015 model year.

Meet the 2015 Land Rover Range Rover->ke469 Evoque Autobiography, which we will learn more about at the Geneva Auto show. I know, that is likely the world's longest name, but it is well worth the length, with its higher-output engine, revised handling and bigger brakes in the Autobiography Dynamic model. Oh yeah, folks, this is no badge job that so many automakers are known for doing. Nope, Land Rover went all out in making this limited-edition Evoque one that actually adds a little extra sportiness to the lineup.

So, is the extra power and road-sticking ability enough to warrant a nice price hike?

Exterior

On the outside, the two Autobiography models are simply a five-door Evoque with a slew of updates that make it look even sexier than it already did. The majority of the changes are rather subtle, and they include a premium front grille, a lower front valence, ingot badging on the tailgate and fender vents and 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Sure the changes on the outside are not overwhelming, but they are plenty to set it apart on dealer lots.

Interior

On the inside, the updates included with the Autobiography models are again subtle, but thorough. The base Autobiography model gets leather seating in six different colors to accent the exterior nicely, Autobiography embossed headrests and Autobiography illuminated door sills. The Autobiography Dynamic adds in dynamic leather upholstery with your choice of sports or premium climate seats and four available colors.

Much like the exterior, the Autobiography models do not get massive updates on the inside, but just enough to set them apart.

Drivetrain and Suspension

Under the skin is where a lot of the work took place in the Autobiography lineup. The base Autobiography mode retains the normal 2.0-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 240 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The Autobiography Dynamic model, on the other hand, gets an extra 45 horsepower and 45 pound-feet of torque to play with, bringing its total to 285 ponies and 295 pounds of twist. Both engines mate to a nine-speed automatic transmission that is more performance tuned than the rest of the Evoque lineup.

The suspension on the Autobiography model remains the same as the rest of the Evoque lineup, but the Dynamic model gets an upgraded suspension system with firmer spring rates, revised dampers and updated geometry for precision handling. The Dynamic's brakes also get a nice upgrade to 13.8-inch discs up front -- a 2-inch increase over the standard Evoque.

We'll likely learn more details at the Geneva Auto Show, but I estimate that the Dynamic model will likely sprint to 60 mph in just about 6.5 seconds and to a top speed of 155 mph.

Prices

Land Rover has yet to revel the Autobiography's pricing, but we're sure to learn at least the base pricing when it debuts in Geneva.

Competitors

Audi Q5

The Audi Q5 is a great alternative to the Evoque, thanks to a lower base price, more engine options and more consistent build quality. Despite all of the strides that Land Rover and Jaguar have made in recent years, some issues still plague the Evoque, making the Audi seem like a sweeter deal. You will, however, have to give up about 20 horsepower in the base model and 65 horsepower when compared to the Dynamic model. Moving up to the Q5 3.0T negates the deficit in the base model, but the Evoque Autobiography Dynamic still has it by 13 horsepower.

So it comes down to style and power versus reliability and price, you choose...

BMW X3

The X3 is another legend in the small luxury SUV realm, and it has the power to hang with the Evoque, thanks to its 240-horsepower base four-banger and its optional 300-horsepower six-pot. It also has superior reliability and a premium name that hasn't been dragged through the mud.

The X3's look is where it falls flat. The X3 is by far the most boring of the compact luxo-SUVs, and BMW apparently has no interest in changing it up any time soon.

Conclusion

Jaguar and Land Rover have come a long way in the past 10 years, and the Evoque is yet another step in the right direction. To boot, last year's elimination of the crap-tastic six-speed autobox was a huge upgrade. That said, I just don't think it is quite on the Audi Q5 and BMW X3 level yet. The Autobiography lineup definitely gives it a nudge in the right direction though.
