It's not the most bombastic special-edition vehicle Mercedes->ke187 has released, but there's something to be said for the SL 2LOOK Edition. If class can be found in the simplest of canvases, the SL 2LOOK Edition is manifestation of that.

The car was introduced at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show->ke228 together with the SLK CarbonLOOK and while its partner-in-crime shows what Mercedes' dark side could look like, the SL 2LOOK Edition is presented in a little more classy look, complete with various contrast finishes and some sprinkles of AMG involvement.

Both cars are scheduled to be available to the public soon, but for now, enjoy them as they continue to make an impression at the Geneva Motor Show. Sooner or later, a lot of you might have to pull out your pockets to get them as options for your respective Mercedes'.

Mercedes-Benz SL 2LOOK Edition in Detail

At first glance, the SL 2LOOK Edition doesn't appear to be a "looker," but this is exactly why the car is deceptively good-looking. Of particular note is how Mercedes presented the sports convertible with a plethora of color choices, including Designo Magno Cashmere White, Designo Diamond White Bright, Tenorite Grey or Iridium Silver, to go with a vario-roof finished in High-Gloss Black. When combined, the colors offer a fascinating contrast that gives the SL a little extra more pop.

Mercedes is also offering a new set of wheels for the SL 2LOOK Edition, specifically a choice of either 19-inch, multi-spoke, light-alloy wheels or 19-inch, AMG 7-twin-spoke, light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and featuring a high-sheen finish. The latter is an added option, so you're going to have to pay a little premium to get them installed.

The interior of the SL 2LOOK Edition also plays into that fascinating combination of light and dark. Black Nappa leather was the predominant material used on the cabin with soft touches of Platinum White Pearl leather used as inserts. The same two-tone design can also be seen on the steering wheel, while AMG contributions show themselves in the form of badged floor mats.

The 2LOOK Edition package will be available on a variety of models, and will eventually be offered on the SL 63 AMG and SL 65 AMG at a price of €9,877, which is about $13,500 based on current exchange rates.
