When Mercedes->ke187 reveals any new model, especially one with sporting intentions, it’s only a matter of time before there are new iterations. Some are faster, some feature tweaked visuals, and they are all more expensive. When the Mercedes-AMG GT was revealed at the 2014 Paris Motor Show,->ke227 we knew that its brand new supercar->ke177 was the perfect candidate for customized models. Right on cuewe have the announcement of the optional Night Package.

This isn’t the first time Mercedes has launched a Night Package; the new C-Class->ke1593 CLS-Class->ke254 are both proud owners of Night Packages.

Bringing its ‘dark-themed’ personalization options to the Silver Arrows’ brand new exotic, gives the GT just a dash more aggression and menacing style. I might be in the minority here but I think the AMG GT Night Package is the best of all the Night Packages we’ve seen so far from Mercedes.

The Mercedes-AMG GT Night Package is available for both the base AMG GT and the more powerful AMG GT S. Unfortunately, it looks like it’s going to be a stand-alone package that can’t be combined with other optional AMG packages, including the Silver Chrome Package and the Exterior Carbon Package.

Mercedes-AMG GT Night Package in detail

Like the other optional packages for the Mercedes-AMG GT, the Night Package is a purely aesthetic package that features a handful of personalized details.

A high-gloss black finish was added to the front splitter, diamond front grille, air intake grilles, and the outlet grilles on the car’s hood and fenders.

Outside of that, the Night Package also features glossy black mirror casings, tinted windows, and a pair of black exhaust tips. Suffice to say, there’s a lot of black in this package, enough at least to turn the AMG GT into a dark and mysterious-looking, 500-horsepower German monster.

With that angry exhaust growl. the darker Night Package suits the AMG GT’s personality perfectly.

Mercedes-AMG GT

After months of waiting and endless spy shots, Mercedes finally revealed the Mercedes-AMG GT at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

The AMG GT is considered the SLS AMG's baby brother. They share the same overall design, and sporting intentions, but the GT makes do with a little less horsepower, and it lost some of the SLS' more distinct features like the gullwing doors.

Despite the similarities, the AMG GT is its own car with its own identity. The overall shape of the car may be similar to the SLS, particularly the long hood and short bonnet combination, but the AMG GT did adopt Mercedes' new styling language, creating an entirely unique look from its big brother that's more indicative of the German company's current styling theme.

It's also pretty powerful in its own right, especially the AMG GT S, which features a 4.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds to go with a top speed of 193 mph.

If the AMG GT S is too powerful for you, Mercedes-AMG is also offering the base AMG GT unit. This model has the same 4.0-liter V-8, but with a lower output of 456 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. It's 0 to 60 mph time is two-tenths of a second slower at 3.9 seconds while its overall top speed is down four mph to "just" 189 mph.
