Mitsubishi has been a silent spectator all this while. It’s almost like the Japanese automaker is happy in its own shell, least bothered about what’s going on around it. However, it decided to make a little sound now. Mitsubishi has released the first teaser image of the facelifted Triton, while at the same time commemorating its 40th anniversary in truck manufacturing.

Focus Has Been On The Face

The teaser image shows the front fascia, and it looks smart. The sleek headlights complement the angular front bumper well. In pickup terms, the grille is on the smaller side. The front end is not that intimidating, despite it getting a significant amount of chrome treatment.

The car has been spotted testing in camouflage, and it appears as if the changes are primarily made to the front-end. There is no news if the interiors have been revised or not, but minor changes like new upholstery and infotainment system could be seen.

Don’t Expect Changes Under The Hood

Presently, the rebadged Triton in U.K., known as the L200, comes with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder, turbodiesel in two states of tune. One produces 151 horses and 280 pound-feet of torque, while the other generates 178 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. There is no word on the launch date yet, but it’s not going to happen at the Paris Motor Show since Mitsubishi is skipping it. Like it? Hate it? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
