Nissan->ke62 has released a new special edition for the X-Trail->ke2317 crossover. It’s designed to attract those wanting a unique styling with more stylish trimmings. Aptly enough, Nissan is calling it the X-Trail Style Edition. How sophisticated.

The Style Edition is said to feature many of the X-Trail’s most desirable accessories, making it a one-box check-off for those wanting a loaded crossover.->ke288 The Style Edition builds off the X-Trail’s range-topping trim, the Tekna grade. This already bumps the Nissan into the upper registers of amenities and features.

The new edition doesn’t make changes to the X-Trail’s drivetrain, so both the 1.6-liter dCi 130 diesel engine and the 1.6-liter DIG-T 163 gasoline engines are available. Both engines now come with a start/stop system for better fuel economy and less emissions. Customers can also choose between FWD and 4WD, along with a manual transmission or Nissan’s Xtronic CVT.

Beyond the “stylish” updates, the X-Trail Style Edition offers the same versatility as before. It can be had in either five- or seven-passenger configurations, offers Nissan’s Luggage Board System that allows customers to configure the cargo area in 18 different ways, and the rear tailgate has a one-touch automatic opening feature.

Nissan says the X-Trail Style Edition is already available for the starting price of £29,405, or roughly $42,363 U.S. dollars at current exchange rates.

What makes the Nissan X-Trail Style Edition special

The X-Trail Style Edition gets plenty of small updates, both within the cabin and on the exterior. Interior updates include alloy sport pedals, chrome door sills, power-adjustable leather seats with heating, a leather steering wheel, and a leather gear shifter knob. Outside, the upgrades include 19-inch Black Ibiscus alloy wheels, chrome mirror caps, a chrome finisher on the lower tailgate, and satin-finish roof rails.

Technology wise, the X-Trail Style Edition comes with the Nissan Connect system and its seven-inch touch-screen. There’s also a slew of safety equipment. Coming standard is Nissan Safety Shield with Around View Monitor, Forward Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Signal Recognition, and Park Assist.

There’s no question this special edition will sell well. It seems more and more customers are flocking to crossovers every year. What’s more, high-end crossovers are doing extremely well, showing that people are willing to pay good money for a souped-up version of a mid-class crossover.

There’s no word whether Nissan will offer something similar on the U.S.-based Rouge, but our suspicion says it’s rather likely.
